Mickey Vershbowis a drummer based in New York City. Her playing is a blend of rock n' roll attitude, old school jazz aesthetics, John Bonham pocket, and abstract improvisation; she is especially interested in exploring how the drums can function not only as a vehicle for rhythm but also as a melodic instrument, and incorporates this into her playing in all contexts. She is currently playing with KAT CUNNING (Company XIV, Cirque du Soleil), fronting the improvisation-based project ANMLPLNET with Leah Wellbaum (Slothrust), and collaborating with many other bands in the NYC area.

Mickey is also a highly experienced teacher in private, group, and online settings. Over the last 6 years, she has taught hundreds of students with a wide range of skill levels, backgrounds, ages, and areas of interest. She developed her approach while studying music therapy at The Evergreen State College, drum-set performance at Berklee College of Music, and working at various schools in the northeast such as BANG! The Drum School in NYC.

She is currently available for lessons at her studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
